The East Kootenay Urban Mule Deer Translocation Trial final report has been released and is available on the Vast Resource Solution website (www.vastresource.com scroll down to bottom for links). I have also attached a copy here. There is also a summary and some FAQ’s.
Overall the project was modest success; certainly not without challenges. We demonstrated that we can reliably and safely capture deer in urban areas via free-range darting. The capture, transfer, translocate and release portion of the project went very well. Many thanks to the several people on this distribution who helped with that work, particularly in 2016.
